Taking a moment to say “thank you” to my wonderful friends at Zot Arts for All:)
Zot Arts came to our area (upon enthusiastic request from an arts educator) to work within the schools, http://www.jpsonline.org/ , Community Based Instruction centers, http://www.oaisd.org/10952061693030623/site/default.asp , and local arts council, http://www.hollandarts.org/. They have since continued to ”ripple” out into other areas and centers bringing true joy to children and adults.
Check out these words from the Zot Arts site:
We Believe…
The human need for creative expression is a primary need necessary for self-fulfillment and self-esteem.
Arts For All is committed to making creative expression available to individuals with disabilities. We develop services and furnish art tools to assure all individuals with different levels of independence an opportunity to fulfill their creative abilities.
Arts For All Gives Mobility a Whole New Look
Arts For All art tools are one-of-a-kind products that offer individuals of all abilities an opportunity for creative expression through arts and mobility. Art tools are designed so participants with limited movement or lack of fine motor skills can be successful in using what mobility they have to create, paint, draw, print and more. Individuals will roll out paint and draw with chalk – all while working on mobility skills and coordination through creative expression.
I truly enjoy the Szots and their commitment to bringing the wonder of creativy to all whose lives they touch. Take a moment to look around the Zot Arts for All site: http://www.zotartz.com/
When meditating or practicing yoga, I see many colors. I have been told this is my chakras opening….I love that! That I can breathe, focus, let my mind go and see color.
I have been trying to get the images of the color onto paper. This seems a difficult task. (I have placed one of the images, above.) The colors shift and change…like those phosphenes that you see when staring at the sun too long. The colors appear and my mind likes to name them…or am I naming colors and they appear? Either way, I love to see them. They have been a part of my inner-world for as long as I can remember. They keep me company.
And now, I want to attempt to honor those moving colors by re-creating them onto paper. Any ideas for creating images of moving, swirling color? I am wondering what medium to work in to get just the right illusion.
I wanted to take a moment to say “thank you” to Mary Jacobs Trumpfheller…a delightful and brilliant intuative. Mary has touched so many…her work is uplifting and her knowledge of astrology is deep. Here is Mary’s mission statement from her site, Innerpathways:
It is my intention to use the art and science of Astrology as a guidance system for daily life and personal growth. I do not believe in absolute prediction since we all create our own reality. I do believe we all have spiritual “tools” available that can guide and direct us into more of who we can be, and where we can go, that best suits our spiritual destiny. I believe that our choices and environment have a direct impact on our life path and that we have a personal story or psychology behind us that can be better understood with the use of Astrology. My goal is to use this gift with sincerity, integrity, and to use both my knowledge and experience wisely and conscientiously.
I feel so fortunate to have met Mary and have had the opportunity to connect on a deeper level. She is a true gem and we are so lucky to have her nearby to learn from her great wisdom.
I went down to walk the beach this evening. I think my favorite time to be on Lake Michigan http://www.greatlakes.org/, believe it or not, is in February. These huge “ice waves” as my boys call them always put me in awe…sand in the snow and ice…how can that be?
I have been finding common images and motifs in my dreams. Then, I locate pictures that represent these images and put them together into a collage.
This motif explores bowls, eggs, ladders and willow branches. I have a clearer understanding of the meaning when I put the images together on a page.
I enjoy manipulating the images when awake and thinking back to the dreams. Each of the dreams, even though it happened on a different occasion, meld together and create a larger world for me.
I am really happy to have a few minutes each day to create using images that are meaningful to me. All of my ideas can be explored each day creatively. There is always a full well from which to draw.
