Lost by one vote. Graciously congratulated the winner who will become the new President of our PTA next year, but inside, I felt a twinge of sadness and defeat. I never wanted to get involved in politics; it’s only grade school for goodness sake! Now I know how Hillary feels.
Thank you, thank you to everyone who participated. Please continue to check out the stories at Mini-Saga Contest Post!
Even with the contest over, please feel free to continue to contribute your mini-saga! It is wonderful to see such creative stories…take time to create!!!

The sunshine was slanting silently, scorching the sanguine thoughts of my psyche.

I am excited to share with you 5 Minutes around the Blogosphere featured on
the 5 Minutes for Mom website. The members of the team there have run an announcement of the Mini-Saga Contest I am running. So, check out Island Life as Kailani was instrumental in getting my contest up.
The two moms that run the site are Susan and Janice. They are work-at-home-moms who also run two toy stores: A Rocking Horse To Love and Pedal Cars and Retro Collectibles.
I have enjoyed visiting their site to learn from other women about being a mom, running a business and blogging!
Take some time to also check out the links that can be found on 5 Minutes for Mom.
Thank you for your wonderful support, 5 Minutes of Mom!
Dream of Snow at the Summer Solstice
June 21, 2008 at 2:04 pm (creativity)

Last night I dreamed of snow in June. In the dream I was soooo frustrated with the cold and snow in JUNE that in protest, I walked around in the dream in snow pants and ski boots. Everyone else said, “Oh, don’t worry…the weather will change,” as they walked around in shorts and t-shirts, freezing! They laughed at my ski boots, but I was happy to be warm…as it should be in JUNE!
The dream continued on to the dunes and a dark, foaming lake with a bridge leading out to it. I was afraid to go, but my husband walked out onto the bridge and looked out at the dark foaming sea. I was relieved that he was okay, and began to feel safer about the dark water and the bridge ahead.
I have posted a photo I took back in February with this entry. I think this cold spring and continued thoughts of global warming are in the forefront of my dreams…also, travelling into unknown territory is just ahead.

A Whole New Mind: Story Portfolio

Write a Mini-Saga
Writing anything is hard work. Writing a short story is really hard work. And writing a novel, a play, or a screenplay can take years. So go easy on yourself by writing a mini-saga. Mini-sagas are extremely short stories–just fifty words long…no more, no less. Yet like all stories, they have a beginning, a middle, and an end. London’s Telegraph newspaper has long sponsored an annual mini-saga contest–and the results show how much creativity a person can pack in exactly fifty words. Try writing a mini-saga yourself. It’s addicting.
Looking for your creative mini-sagas! I will also see who is viewing this blog:)
Bring on the creativity!
