Attitude Adjustment

I keep waking up with negativity.  Looking for the reasons and looking to change.

Here is what I tried.  After connecting with Jeanie Marshall, I began to take a look at the feelings/words that have been swirling around in my mind.

~Anger
~Resistance
~Resentment
~Frustration
~Rigid

I took each word apart into its elemental letters.  Then, rearranged the letters to form new words.  This then led into a poem, of sorts:

I
Mine-Dig
Go Start Stance
Is Sent
I

This makes sense to me.  I continue to dig through my feelings, mining for the bright spots there.  I will go, get started, take a stance on my beliefs.  I send my feelings, thoughts, ideas, out into the universe…now.

It is hard work to create…creating a life, work, purpose…while taking the time to breathe and focus on this moment.

I am a human BEING.

Sculptures! #wtj

We decided to collect the “stuff” from the garage and make sculptures.  This came from 1.  years of wanting to do this 2. Wreck This Journal book study

After finding lint in our pockets, smearing food onto the journal, cutting, poking holes, drawing, scribbling…generally “wrecking” this journal, I felt the need to create!

So, from the scrap wood, metal tubing, wire, the last of some paint tubes…basically project detritus, we created beauty!  My sons and I glued, nailed, twisted and painted creating these sculptures that will hang and sit in our yard and gardens.

So out of the ashes and piles of “wreckage” we have our sculpture “phoenix”.  And, as they have risen, so shall they fall over the years, sitting in the elements…Loving this cycle!

Rosy Maple Moth

Picking up our eldest son from scout camp brought us closer to this beautiful moth!  The Rosy Maple Moth.  (Found out the name from What’s That Bug?

On of the scouts brought me over to see this moth, because he thought it was so wonderful.  I agreed.  Then, I compared it to Andy Worhol.

Always a joy to behold the wonders of nature!

Wreck this Journal…keep on wreckin’!

My journal took a swim today!  Yippee! Right off the diving board:)

    Oh yes!!! What next?

My turn!  Called my other son:

 Heeeerrrreeee we go again!

Wow!  Look at the wreckage…hee…hee…hee  What a blast!

Thoughts and Noticings #WTJ

Some thoughts…and noticings…on participating in the Wreck this Journal group:

While watching Jamie in this video for week #3 of Wreck this Journal, I got a catch in my…well…call it psyche.  Why do we need to share?  or destroy?  or change?   How do we teach this?  Should we teach this?

Thinking so often of the phrase, “This Too Shall Pass”, I continue to see that, even though I can wreck some of this journal…I hold back in other areas of my life.

Here is an excerpt from Echart Tolle’s Book The Power of NOW:

To offer no resistance to life is to be in a state of grace, ease, and lightness. This state is then no longer dependent upon things being in a certain way, good or bad. It seems almost paradoxical, yet when your inner dependency on form is gone, the general conditions of your life, the outer forms, tend to improve greatly. Things, people, or conditions that you thought you needed for your happiness now come to you with no struggle or effort on your part, and you are free to enjoy and appreciate them – while they last. All those things, of course, will still pass away, cycles will come and go, but with dependency gone there is no fear of loss anymore. Life flows with ease.  —Echart Tolle

Dream of Full Moon and Fish

The other night I had a gorgeous dream including the full moon and a fish.  If you have read any of my dreams, you will see that fish is a persistant theme!

The dream was glorious and awe-inspiring.  The misty clouds cleared in the dark night sky to reveal an enormous full moon.  All of the people in my dream stopped what they were doing to admire.  As we watched, a whimsical fish swam by…right in front of the moon.

Change is here, from the full moon.  The fish….well, beginning to think that is my totem…hmmmm….

What did you dream last night?

Wreck this Journal Week #3

”What is that scratching sound???  Must investigate.  I am the notorious scratcher…who is taking over my job?”

“How very strange…a journal, all scratched up. Hmmm…what is going on here?”

Well….our kitty was curious for a while, but the bird movements won out over my journal wreckage.  Loved scratching the page…not enough of the black ink came off…so I took some tape, and pulled it off…that’ll teach it!

This last photo shows the holes I enjoyed poking in the journal with a pencil…actually, I used a pen.  This image of the poked holes made me wonder if the book felt the pain….which then reminded me of Batman.  So, with that thought…Return here soon, “same Bat time, same Bat channel…”

Wreck this Journal!

Upon arriving home from a mini-vacation, I finally received my new book, Wreck this Journal! So…I immediately opened it…to have it taken from me by my youngest son (who said, “Where’s mine?”) and then my eldest son…(who said “Where is mine???) I said, “This one is mine!” Kids think they can have all the fun…HA!

I got it back (promising to get 2 more journals;)…and began to scribble and crack the binding!  Whoo hoo! ( I love cracking the bindings of books… I love to write in books…I am soo excited about this journal and this opportunity!  I miss making a mess!

Above is a quick snapshot of the page asking for sticky, gooey stuff…just back from camping…marshmallows to spare…smearing and sticking…Loved that!!
