A Melody a Day~Listen

A Melody a Day~Listen (click on the image for the video).

From Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes:

Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes:
Dear Souls: Talking most all the time off the top of one’s head vs and rarely speaking, over-thinking much:  Whichever one leans into: Suggest as daily practice for at least 14 days, doing the opposite.

I promise you it will be appreciated by many around you, for in one sense,

it will provide a quiet to be filled by others, a reality of listening instead of filling every silence. Destruction of silence can also severely shortcut depth of thought, new realizations that matter only to self.

For others, practicing expression will invite others to listen, to lean a bit closer to you, to learn less about you superficially, and more about you that is meaningful to them… and to you, not just you alone.

Growth comes deeply when we use other aspects of ourselves rather than our favorite and often over-used ones.

Silence is one of the most misunderstood of the gifts we are all born with, as is meaningful speech vs speech that speaks frivolously.

We have more than enough trivial speech, miles of it, hoards of it… just cruise the websites, chatrooms, streaming television shows…. hours and hours and hours of nothing said, nothing done, and meanwhile the great One rides by … still with the flowers made of stars as crown, speaking in scents and in poetry, in art and dance, in color and in extraordinary thought and action…do not natter your life away… do not. do not anxiety your life away, nor perserverate your life away… Instead, practice the gifts you have not preferred; the ones that demand much of you. You will not be disappointed to practice daily, for you’ll catch even more glimpses that you are riding fully ensaddled behind the One.

Peace be with you.
With love,  dr. e”

I choose to listen…what do you choose?
