Dream-going down a dark staircase into a basement, pipes, water dripping, wooden floors rotting-there was a dark hole and a square hole in the wooden flooring (as if something very heavy had fallen in). I decided to turn back, became disoriented (as can happen so quickly in a dream), then headed back up the stairs. Behind me, I hear a pebble, or small object being rolled…to beckon me back…spooky….
Dream-floating on a raft in the arctic waters, dark and icy, there was a lighthouse up ahead on the shore…I knew safety was near from the dark and cold.
These dreams were powerful and full of up-close feeling. Will paint the beckoning creature from the first dream…as I have a recurring image of him…
You know…Eric Maisel asked to write on which lesson interested me…I found the response in my head very interesting.
See…I enjoy painting my dreams in the morning.I look back through the images I have created and recall feelings and emotions that are still with me.It has been a wonderful way to express my thoughts and play with watercolor, oil pastels, and markers.I do not consider visual arts as my profession, but I do enjoy playing with different mediums and creating in a variety of ways.I would like more practice in this arena.
This is where my mind went with this exercise.I began to think of an acquaintance of mine who owns a gallery/framing shop.I have wondered over the years if she might be willing to frame some of my work and show it in her gallery.
Why not ask? I thought.Yes, my mind has gone through all of the negative thoughts…but what is interesting, is I think I might just try it.
I will show her my work.Ask her to frame it (of course I will pay the framing costs), discuss with her how she brings in local artists work, what are the costs etc, explain to her my dream of putting up my “dream captures”….and perhaps connect with her on the possibility of a class on capturing dreams on paper.
I know very little about the world of arts galleries. But I do know that many local artists show there work in her shop. She is very supportive. It would be a good learning experience for me…no matter what happens.I will then gather the information I need to connect with clients and support them with marketing in galleries.
Well…last night’s dreams were intense and detailed. One image that stood out was that of a quail skeleton.
In the dream a friend was saying, “The quail was utterly destroyed…” then he showed me a book containg a full quail skeleton. This was a different quail than the one that had been destroyed (obviously!).
Looked up “quail” in the Animal Speaks book.
Key ideas: fertility, danger, preparing for danger (power over), and naming.
I will continue to journal and see where these ideas manifest in my life.
I had a dream the other night where my husband (in the dream) was speaking in these amazing, shiny blue and indigo bubbles! It was wild!
I got to thinking…my husband is very funny…always witty and creating great plays on words and metaphors. I believe the dream was showing me this and telling me to lighten up and just enjoy the humor for a while!
There was also the thought of cartoon bubbles…the double entendre was evident to me…but that is my secret:)
Dreamed of being on an airplane last night. Very calm and peaceful dream of adventure and new journeys. I love to look up dream interpretations here:
Airplanes To see an airplane in your dream, indicates that you will overcome your obstacles and rise to a new level of prominence and status. You may experience a higher consciousness, new-found freedom and greater awareness. Perhaps you need to gain a better perspective or wider view on something. If the airplane is taking off, then it suggests that an idea or plan is about to “take off” and be put into action. It may also represent you need to get away and escape from your daily life.
To dream that you transfer planes, implies an important transitional phase in your life which will take you away from your intended path. These changes will take you to new directions and new heights of status and recognition.
I also dreamed that I was looking at myself in a photograph. It was me, and how I use to look, but the photo was imagined. I was teaching ballet positions to young children…here is this dream image analysis:
Photograph To see a photograph in your dream, indicates that there is a relationship that needs your attention. You are not looking deep enough in the relationship or situation. It may also mean that you are clinging on to the past or to some false hope. Consider who or what is on the photo. The image may be trying to take you back to a particular moment in time.
